CONTRACTOR URGED TO SPEED UP NAMBULUMA-BOMA ROAD WORKS

Muchinga Province Minister, Njavwa Simutowe, has urged the contractor China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Limited to speed up the works on the Nambuluma-Boma access road under construction in Chinsali District.

Speaking during an inspection of the road, Mr Simutowe called for immediate acceleration of works following significant delays on the project that have caused a shift in the contractual period.

He expressed disappointment at the pace the project is progressing saying the people of Chinsali are eager to have a proper access road.

“As the Provincial Minister for this province, I am not happy with the prolonged delays on this project, the people of Chinsali have suffered as this road has been in a deplorable state for a long time hence the need for you the contractor to speed up the works,” he said.

And China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Corporation Limited, Assistant Project Manager Hehai Tao, has assured the company’s commitment towards expediting the remaining works.

Meanwhile, Technical Consultant Zambia Limited Resident Engineer, Desire Kayembe has attributed the delayed works on the road project to the weather.
