MUCHINGA PS WARNS CIVIL SERVANTS AGAINST TRIBALISM

Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Tuesday Bwalya has warned civil servants against practicing tribalism, urging them to rise above ethnic divisions in the delivery of public services.

Speaking during an official visit to the border district, Dr. Bwalya stressed that the government maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ethnic bias in the public sector

He challenged civil servants to prioritise professionalism and align their work ethics with national development goals.

Dr Bwalya also called on the district workforce to follow the example set by President Hakainde Hichilema, who has consistently condemned tribalism and championed national unity.

The Permanent Secretary emphasized that government policies can only achieve their intended purposes if implemented by a disciplined and unbiased civil service.

Dr Bwalya called for workplace Equity adding that District Heads of Departments (HoDs), to create an enabling working environment.

Dr Bwalya further demanded equal treatment for all subordinates in various sectors.

The PS said this when he addressed public workers in Nakonde district today at the Nakonde Council premises.

He equally reminded senior management that their roles as supervisors were entirely dependent on the workforce they lead.

“You HoDs learn to be on the ground to hear the challenges and interact with your members of staff for the department to progress and meet the mandate you are charged with,” Dr Bwalya said.

The Permanent Secretary further highlighted that local development remained directly tied to effective policy enforcement and maintained law and order.

He urged departments to foster deep collaboration to ensure the demands of Nakonde residents are met efficiently.
