SCT BENEFICIARIES URGED TO USE FUNDS WISELY.

Mpika District Commissioner David Siame has called on Social Cash Transfer (SCT) Beneficiaries to prudently utilize the SCT Funds.

Mr Siame noted that government is spending colossal sums of money to sustain the programme, hence the need for the beneficiaries to utilize the funds to improve their livelihoods.

Mr Siame disclosed this in an interview in Mpika, that currently Mpika has over 14 thousand beneficiaries on SCT programme.

The District Commissioner was quick to mention that his office working with the Department of Social Welfare is working to ensure that only deserving residents are receiving social cash transfer funds in the district.

He further thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for his good leadership and support towards the social cash transfer programme across the country.

“Government has increased social cash transfer funds for non-physically challenged persons from 400 to 800 kwacha and for the physically challenged persons from 600 to 1200 bi-monthly payments,” he said.
