ZCS LAUNCHES FREE CANCER AWARENESS MAGAZINE

The Zambian Cancer Society (ZCS) has launched the second issue of its free Cancer Awareness Magazine, aimed at strengthening public knowledge on the prevention of the disease, early detection and treatment through real life experiences.

Speaking at the launch of the Dukutober Magazine Lusaka, Cancer Diseases Hospital (CDH) Senior Medical Superintendent, Suzun Musadabwe said the publication will play a vital role in educating the public on cancer warning signs, available treatment options and support systems.

Dr Musadabwe noted that the inclusion of survivor stories helps clarify Cancer as a disease and encourages early health seeking behaviour among members of the public.

Meanwhile, ZCS Founder and Executive Director, Udie Soko said the magazine provides accurate, reliable and accessible information on Cancer while offering a platform for people living with the disease to share their experiences.

She added that the magazine will be distributed free of charge to Cancer Diseases Hospitals and other health facilities across the country.

And Charity Phiri, a cervical cancer survivor featured in the magazine, shared her story of hope and resilience, urging women to undergo regular screening and seek medical attention early.

The magazine will also be distributed to Schools and community centers nationwide as part of the efforts to scale up Cancer awareness ahead of World Cancer Day, commemorated on February 26, 2026.
