Over 470 youths have received the Busulu Loan Product provided by the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) through the Imisepela Application.
Speaking during the Imisepela Program on ZANIS TV, CEEC Public Relations and Communications Manager Michelo Mukata, says that the bad credit reference bureau (CRB) has continued to be a dominant limiting factor for most applicants.
“Applicants must ensure that they have a good record with CRB in order to promote sustainability. Citizens are expected to be responsible,” said Mr Mukata.
Imisepela Executive Director, Violet Chibuta, called on employers to submit opportunities for youths, as her organisation is working towards developing a website that will ease the process and display the application status.
Ms Chibuta highlighted that her organisation is compliant with the Data Protection Act, explaining that every data collected is strictly for authentication and ensuring that not a single person has access twice.
She also clarified that Imisepela is a nongovernmental organisation that is working with the government and other partners to bring opportunities closer to the youths.
