VEEP DONATES TOWARDS HEALTH POST CONSTRUCTION IN MUKOBEKO

Vice President Mutale Nalumango has donated K100, 000 cash to the Midlands East Zambia Conference Dorcas Mothers towards the construction of a health post in the Mukobeko area.

And Ms Nalumango says the government recognises and deeply appreciates the role of the church as a key strategic partner in national development.

Ms Nalumango says the church plays a critical role in promoting Christian values and upholding national values and principles.

Officially opening the 2026 Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church Dorcas Mothers Rally in Kabwe District under the Midlands East Zambia Conference, Ms Nalumango noted that Dorcas society continues to play a vital role in complimenting the government’s efforts, especially in health and education sectors.

The Vice President said the church and government have a collective commitment to build a peaceful, just and prosperous nation.

“I’m sure this is our desire as Dorcas’ mothers. As long as it depends on you, you should love and you should give in peace,” Ms Nalumango said.

She urged for leadership that is rooted in humility, guided by love and expressed through service, especially to the marginalised.

She commended the Midlands East Zambia Conference for initiatives such as the One Voice 27 Strategic Plan that guides its operations while waiting for the return of Jesus Christ.

She said efforts such as the drilling of boreholes and construction of health facilities demonstrates faith based on deeds to improve the welfare of humanity.

Ms Nalumango observed that the initiatives demonstrate a model of development that places people at the centre and dignity at the forefront.

She stated that leadership whether in the church, home or community begins with surrender to divine guidance.

“The Dorcas Society continues to play a vital and commendable role in complimenting the government’s efforts and is known for community and charity work,” she stated.

Ms Nalumango said the Dorcas society’s presence is felt in hospitals, prisons and communities where the vulnerable seek hope.

“Through your service to the widows, orphans and the marginalised, you embody the values of compassion and solidarity that are essential for national cohesion. In doing so, you are not only serving communities but also strengthening the moral fabric of our nation,” Ms Nalumango.

Meanwhile, Midlands East Zambia Conference President Darlington Muyabila reaffirmed the commitment of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church to working with the government in upholding peace and harmony in the country.

Pastor Muyabila said the Dorcas Ministry continues to provide service to those in need, especially widows, orphans and the marginalised.

“We value and uphold the role of women in the community and the church. We uphold the growth of the church and that of the nation,” Pastor Muyabila said.

And Northern Zambia Union Conference Executive Secretary Chifumbe Kapenya said the Dorcas ministry continues to be the arm of the SDA church through community service.

Pastor Kapenya said the SDA church will continue playing its complementary role to the government in the areas of health and education.

“The SDA remains committed to national development, especially in education and health sectors. The church compliments the government on health, through the various outposts,” Pastor Kapenya said.
