The Lusaka Masters Golf Tournament is set to make a major comeback in 2026, with organisers unveiling an ambitious roadmap aimed at positioning the event among Africa’s top golfing competitions.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, Organising Committee Chairperson Noel Nkoma said the tournament, which has not been held for the past two years, will take place from September 14 to 20, 2026 at the Lusaka Golf Club.
Mr Nkoma described the relaunch as timely and significant, noting that the tournament will not only revive competitive golf in Zambia but also contribute to tourism growth.
“This media launch is meant to communicate our roadmap. We are excited about the opportunity and grateful to the media for partnering with us on this journey,” he said.
The tournament, sanctioned by the Zambia Golf Union (ZGU), will be part of the Sunshine Tour calendar, attracting both local and international professional golfers.
President Hakainde Hichilema has been invited to officiate at the event, with organisers expressing confidence in government support for the sport.
