CHITIMUKULU REAFFIRMS RODRICK BWALYA AS SUBCHIEF CHISANGA PONDE

The Chitimukulu In-council, locally known as “Inchenje”, has reaffirmed the appointment of Rodrick Bwalya as subchief Chisanga Ponde of the Bemba-speaking people in the Mungwi district.

Council spokesperson Davies Chansa said the resolution was arrived at during the meeting held on February 27 this year at the Mwinelubemba’s palace in Malole.

Mr Chansa has urged village headmen and the surrounding community to respect the decision of the council, which was also attended by the Mwinelubemba Chief Chitimukulu.

Mr Chansa made the announcement in an interview in Mungwi district.

He called on the people of Chisanga Ponde to support Mr Bwalya in order to develop the area.

Mr Chansa dispelled rumours which were circulated that the Mwinelubemba Chitimukulu would send another person to go and take over from Mr Bwalya.
