KAWAMBWA COUNCIL COMPLETES STREET LIGHTING PROJECT IN CBD

Kawambwa Town Council of Luapula Province has completed the final installation of streetlights in the Central Business District (CBD) as part of infrastructure development programme funded under the Road Sector Grant.

Kawambwa Town Council Public Relations Officer, Mwango Kapalaula, says the project, costing over K680,000, has brought about the much-needed lighting to the area, enhanced security, and more economic activities.

ZANIS reports that Ms Kapalaula explained that the installation of street lights in Kawambwa is part of the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and create a safe and enabling environment for businesses and residents.

She further stated that the development is a key component to improving the living standards of local people through utilisation of the resources.

Ms Kapalaula has since urged all residents to work together in protecting public infrastructure, saying no vandalism will be tolerated.

Meanwhile, Kawambwa residents have expressed happiness with the development, saying it will greatly improve the safety of the town.
