Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation Programme, Acting Director for Water Resources Development, Abel Manangi, says Zambia remains water secure, with government’s continuous implementation of water projects that have improved access to clean water and safe sanitation services for citizens across the country.
Speaking when he featured on a ZANIS special programme on African Freedom Day, Mr Manangi said the country has continued to make significant progress in managing and developing water resources that are contributing to achieving the goals of the African Union Agenda 2063.
Mr Manangi stressed that this year’s Africa Freedom Day theme, “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063,” resonates with Zambia’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens through enhanced water supply and sanitation services.
And, Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, Acting Director of Water Supply and Sanitation, Richard Kangwa, says one of the mandates of the Ministry is to ensure that the country is water secure and this is achieved by the rehabilitation of water harvesting infrastructure.
