The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Lavushimanda District of Muchinga Province, has urged uniformed staff to maintain professionalism during the nomination process ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking during a briefing held at the Lavushimanda Town Council, District Electoral Officer, Jonas Mwendakawa said the Commission cannot conduct credible elections without the support and participation of key stakeholders, including uniformed personnel.
Mr Mwendakawa said the electoral process requires cooperation from all stakeholders in order to promote peaceful and transparent elections.
He explained that the meeting reminded officers about the dos and don’ts during the electoral process as the country prepares for the 2026 general elections.
“Let me conclude by urging you to continue maintaining professionalism and being above board,” he said.
Meanwhile, ECZ Lavushimanda District Returning Officer (RO), Gabriel Mwango, explained that the meeting was organised to prepare uniformed officers for the nomination exercise.
