PDU ADVISES IBA ON COMMUNITY TELEVISION AND RADIO STATIONS

Head of the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU), Kusobile Kamwambi, has urged the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) to take keen interest in the operations of community television and radio stations.

Ms Kamwambi notes that community television and radio stations need government support to keep them afloat.

She has observed that most rural community television and radio stations are struggling to survive.

Ms Kamwambi further stresses that community television and radio stations are powerful tools the government can use to disseminate information to the public about various projects it is implementing to improve livelihoods.

She said this when the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Director General, Webster Malido paid a courtesy call on her in Lusaka today

IBA Director General, Webster Malido, assured the Head of the Presidential Delivery Unit that the institution remains committed to promoting a broadcasting environment that supports public interests, national unity, access to information and development communication.
