MBANGWETA HAILS VEEP’S SUCCESSFUL WESTERN PROVINCE VISIT

Western Province Minister Kapelwa Mbangweta has praised Vice President Mutale Nalumango’s three-day working visit to the province, describing it as successful and impactful in strengthening ties between government and local communities.

In a statement issued to ZANIS, Mr Mbangweta thanked the Vice President for gracing the Kuomboka Ceremony of the Litunga La Mboela in Nalolo District over the weekend.

“Her Honour’s visit underscored Government’s continued respect for our rich cultural heritage and its commitment to promoting unity among our people,” he said.

While in the province, Mrs Nalumango also visited families displaced by floods who were being hosted in Senanga District.

The Minister said the Vice President’s interaction with the affected households has shown government’s compassion during times of distress.

“Her interaction with the affected families is a clear demonstration of Government’s people-centred approach and commitment to ensuring that no citizen is left behind, especially in times of distress,” the Minister stated.

The Vice President also attended a church service at All Saints United Church of Zambia in Mongu, where she called for love, unity, and prayer for national leaders.

“This reflects Government’s recognition of the important role that the church plays in fostering moral values and national cohesion,” the Minister noted.

Mr Mbangweta said he was encouraged by Mrs Nalumango’s engagements with traditional leaders and communities, saying they continue to strengthen the bond between government and the people of Western Province.

He commended residents for the warm reception accorded to the Vice President and for maintaining peace throughout her visit.

“I also wish to commend the people of Western Province for the warm reception accorded to Her Honour and for maintaining peace and unity throughout her visit,” he said.

With the general election approaching, the minister urged citizens to uphold peace, love, and mutual respect.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to development through the Constituency Development Fund, CDF.

“Government remains committed to accelerating development through key initiatives such as the Constituency Development Fund, which is already transforming communities through infrastructure development, empowerment programmes, and improved service delivery,” he said.
