The local authority in Nakonde District in Muchinga Province has approved 100 additional beneficiaries under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursary component.

Nakonde Town Council Public Relations Officer Florence Sichula confirmed the development in a statement made available to ZANIS in Nakonde yesterday.

She said the approvals cover 54 students under the Skills Development Bursary and 46 pupils under the secondary boarding school support.

Ms Sichula said the additional beneficiaries would be supported at the cost of over K1.2 million.

“Nakonde Town Council has received approval for an additional 54 skills development bursary beneficiaries who were previously on the pending list at a cost of K1,070,456.00 and an additional 46 secondary boarding school bursary beneficiaries valued at K149,904.00 under the same programme,” she said.

Ms Sichula disclosed that the inclusion of these new beneficiaries brings to 174 the total number of students being supported under Skills Development beneficiaries.
