Minister of Health, Alex Katakwe says the installation of the solar power system at Chalimbana Health Center in Chongwe District is a timely intervention in addressing challenges such as climate shocks, energy insecurity, and public health concerns.
And Chongwe Member of Parliament, Sylvia Masebo has thanked Prudential Zambia, and the World Health Organisation (WHO) for partnering with the government in improving service delivery in the health sector.
Ms Masebo said this was during the commissioning of the facility at the health institution today.
Prudential Zambia r epresentative, Kombe Temba, said the solar system will help improve power supply for critical services such as the maternity ward, emergency care and essential medical equipment.
“We have installed solar systems in eight health facilities across the country, ensuring power for critical services such as maternity wards, emergency care, and essential medical equipment.
