ERB INTENSIFIES ELECTRICITY INFRASTRUCTURE MONITORING

THE Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has intensified efforts to monitor electricity infrastructure projects aimed at improving power supply reliability across the country.

An ERB team, led by Director for Licensing Naomi Fulaza, toured the Sun substation in Livingstone’s Mukuni area.

The substation is a key facility undergoing upgrades to enhance electricity distribution in the tourist capital.

Speaking during the tour, ERB Senior Manager for Electricity, Stephen Mwiinga, said the upgrade of the 33KV/11KV substation is critical to strengthening power supply to consumers.

“We are here at the Sun substation in Livingstone, which is currently being upgraded. The upgrade is meant to enhance the supply of electricity to different consumers supplied from this facility within the Livingstone area,” he said.

Mr Mwiinga explained that the ERB was undertaking inspections of energy projects countrywide to ensure steady progress and improved service delivery.

Works on the 33KV/11KV Sun substation are expected to be complete by May 2026.
