CCPC URGES CONSUMERS TO STAY VIGILANT

THE Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Northern Province has urged consumers to remain vigilant when purchasing goods.

CCPC Northern Province Investigator Milner Kazembe says the public need to watch out for expired products that may pose serious health risks.

Mr Kazembe said this shortly after conducting a joint operation with the Kasama Municipal Council in Kasama.

The operation led to the confiscation of expired products from selected shops.

“Expired products are not only illegal but dangerous to public health. We will continue to remove them from shelves and take appropriate action against offenders,” Mr Kazembe emphasised.

The Commission also raised alarm over the widespread failure by businesses to display prices on commodities.
