LUSAKA Province Permanent Secretary Joe Kalusa has emphasised the importance of conducting the forthcoming national crop survey with diligence and accuracy, stating that the exercise is critical for effective national planning and decision-making.
Mr Kalusa stressed that proper supervision of field officers will be essential to ensure statistics collected truly reflect the country’s agricultural realities.
He was speaking when Zambia Statistics Agency Lusaka Province Regional Statistician, Kennedy Chimpa, paid a courtesy call on him to inform him about the forthcoming national crop survey.
“The exercise is very important because it involves people who directly interact with the population. We need accurate figures that will guide the country in making informed decisions and planning effectively,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zambia Statistics Agency Kennedy Chimpa said preparations for the survey are underway, with the Ministry of Agriculture expected to handle ground logistics on March 20th , 2026.
