MACHUNGWA URGES POLICE TO REMAIN PROFESSIONAL

ZAMBIA Police Service Commission (ZPSC) Chairperson Peter Machungwa has urged the Zambia Police and Immigration Departments across the country to remain professional and committed to duty as the country heads to the general elections in August this year.

Dr Machungwa said there is need for officers especially in Lusaka Province which mirrors the happenings in the country to strive and ensure that both people and property are protected as citizens exercise their democratic right to vote.

He said this when he led the commission to pay a courtesy call on the Lusaka Provincial Administration.

“We are aware that there may be some challenges, but we want to see close collaboration between our two departments and the Provincial leadership so that we achieve our goals, we also know that officers are concerned about things like advancements and promotions so we are also working on that,” Dr Machungwa said.

And Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary,  Joe Kalusa said the Provincial leadership will continue to engage closely with both the Zambia Police and Immigration departments for enhanced law and order in the province.
