THE Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS) has announced that it will release the preliminary results of the 2025 Economic Establishment Census (EEC) and the key findings of the 2024/2025 Post-Harvest Survey on March 24, 2026.
Speaking at a Press Briefing in Lusaka, Acting Statistician General, Sheila Mudenda, noted that the 2025 Economic Establishment Census is a cornerstone of Zambia’s GDP rebasing process.
She explained that preliminary results will therefore provide a comprehensive and credible Statistical Business Register for all businesses operating in Zambia.
Ms Mudenda added that the preliminary results will also give an updated picture of the structure and distribution of economic activities across sectors, as well as a reliable sampling frame for future business and economic surveys.
She disclosed that the final results will be released in the second quarter of 2026 after integration with administrative data from institutions such as PACRA, Zambia Revenue Authority, Bank of Zambia, and NAPSA.
“This phased approach is important because it allows ZamStats to provide the nation with timely preliminary findings, while also ensuring that the final results are strengthened through integration with key administrative data sources,” indicated Ms Mudenda.
