YOUTHS URGED TO WORK HARD

President Hakainde Hichilema today led the country in celebrating the 2026 Youth Day, which started with laying of wreaths at North-Western Province Cenotaph in Solwezi District.

During the ceremony, President Hichilema led dignitaries to lay wreaths in dedication for freedom fighters who lost their lives during the country’s struggle for independence.

The Service chiefs, men and women in uniform, Ambassadors, youths, and other officials also laid wreaths.

Ministry of Defence Chaplain General, Henry Matifeyo shared a homily emphasizing youths must be visionary and aim at reaching great heights in their quest for leadership, economic emancipation, or opportunities of life.

This year’s National Youth Day commemoration has been held in Solwezi District of North-Western Province under the theme “Rise and Soar.”
