70% CHANCE OF RECEIVING OVER 50MM OF RAINFALL-ZMD

The Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD) says there is more than 70 percent chance of receiving over 50 Millimeters of rainfall over most parts of the country.

ZANIS reports that this is according to the latest Weekly Weather Bulletin issued by ZMD for the period 20th to 26th January 2026.

The Department, however, indicated that Western Province and the western parts of Northwestern Province will have less than 60 percent chance of receiving more than 50 mm of rainfall during the forecast period.

“There is more than 70% chance of receiving over 50 mm of rainfall over most parts of the country.

However, Western Province and the western parts of Northwestern Province will have less than a 60 percent chance of receiving more than 50 mm of rainfall during the forecast period.”

During the forecast period, Southern, Lusaka, Central, Copperbelt, Luapula, Muchinga, Northern, and Eastern Provinces, including the eastern parts of Northwestern Province, are expected to experience mornings that are mainly cloudy, slightly windy, and mild with isolated rain and occasional thunder.
