The Ministry of Agriculture in Mbala District has expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) in the area.
Mbala District Agriculture Coordinator Moses Mulenga said the district has been allocated 10,000 beneficiaries under FISP for the 2025/2026 farming season and that of that number, 8,457 farmers have received codes to collect inputs through the Electronic (E) Voucher System, enabling them to begin redeeming their inputs ahead of the new season.
“The beneficiaries include farmers who sold maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) as well as those who did not sell to FRA but belong to authorized cooperatives,” Mr Mulenga explained in an interview with ZANIS.
Mr Mulenga urged remaining farmers to redeem their codes promptly and assured that the district is committed to ensuring a transparent and efficient FISP implementation to support increased agricultural production.
