A resident of Mukosa Village in Mungwi District has commended government for considering Mukosa Primary School to be among the schools to benefit from the construction of health rooms in the area.

Wilfred Chikwanda told ZANIS in an interview in Mungwi that the move will positively contribute to reduction in absenteeism among pupils at the school.

Mr Chikwanda said children who are unwell will no longer abscond from school as they will have assurance that they will be treated for various ailments within the confine of the school.

He said the programme is a clear testament of President Hakainde Hichilema’s commitment to promote education and the wellbeing of pupils.

Mr Chikwanda noted that the introduction of the health room has empowered teachers to provide essential health services to learners within the school premises.

He said the initiative demonstrates a strong commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of pupils.

He has since called on all stakeholders to embrace the initiative to ensure the programme becomes a success.
