The President was speaking when representatives from the United Nations agencies led by UN Resident Coordinator Beatrice Munthali paid a courtesy call on him at State House today.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, President Hichilema reaffirmed Zambia\u2019s dedication to actively participate in the UN\u2019s agenda and initiatives.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The President also highlighted the importance of accelerating progress on the roadmap concerning Africa\u2019s representation and membership on the United Nations Security Council.<\/p>\n

He underscored the need for swift action to ensure the continent\u2019s interests are adequately represented in global security decision-making.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Earlier, United Nations Resident Coordinator Beatrice Munthali commended the ongoing efforts to optimise the UN\u2019s operations in the country.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
As the UN commemorates 80 years of existence, Ms Munthali called for enhanced cooperation with Zambia, urging both parties to continue building on their existing partnership to achieve mutual development goals.<\/p>\n
