The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has approved 42 licenses, five construction permits and various amendments to licenses, recording a total investment pledge of K608 Million towards energy service delivery and infrastructure\u00a0development.<\/p>\n
The approvals cover electricity, renewable energy, and downstream petroleum subsectors, signaling broad-based expansion across Zambia’s energy value chain.<\/p>\n
ERB Public Relations\u00a0Manager,\u00a0Namukolo Kasumpa, confirmed the development to ZANIS in a statement today.<\/p>\n
Ms Kasumpa said the approvals were granted during the ERB\u00a0Licensing Committee meeting held on 15th May, this year.<\/p>\n
Regarding downstream petroleum infrastructure, Ms Kasumpa indicated that ERB authorised the construction of three new retail service stations and approved the commissioning of two additional stations for operational use.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese developments expand compliant petroleum infrastructure\u00a0and improve nationwide access to petroleum products.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdditionally, the ERB licensed 49 petroleum transportation fuel tankers, reinforcing the petroleum supply chain, boosting national distribution capacity, and supporting supply security,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n
