The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Lavushimanda District of Muchinga Province, has urged uniformed staff to maintain professionalism during the nomination process ahead of the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n
Speaking during a briefing held at the Lavushimanda Town Council, District Electoral Officer, Jonas Mwendakawa said the Commission cannot conduct credible elections without the support and participation of key stakeholders, including uniformed personnel.<\/p>\n
Mr Mwendakawa said the electoral process requires cooperation from all stakeholders in order to promote peaceful and transparent elections.<\/p>\n
He explained that the meeting reminded officers about the dos and don\u2019ts during the electoral process as the country prepares for the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me conclude by urging you to continue maintaining professionalism and being above board,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, ECZ Lavushimanda District Returning Officer (RO), Gabriel Mwango, explained that the meeting was organised to prepare uniformed officers for the nomination exercise.<\/p>\n
