{"id":4014,"date":"2026-05-11T21:04:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T18:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=4014"},"modified":"2026-05-11T21:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T18:06:10","slug":"directorate-of-artisanal-and-small-scale-mining-receives-5-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=4014","title":{"rendered":"DIRECTORATE OF ARTISANAL AND SMALL-SCALE MINING RECEIVES 5 VEHICLES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Government has handed over five motor vehicles valued about K13 Million to regional offices under the Directorate of Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining to strengthen monitoring and regulation of mining activities across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Paul Kabuswe says the handover of the vehicles demonstrates government\u2019s commitment to supporting the growth of the artisanal and small-scale mining sub sector.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the handover ceremony in Lusaka, Mr Kabuswe said the initiative is in line with President Hakainde Hichilema\u2019s vision of increasing the participation of Zambians in the mining sector.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kabuswe explained that the vehicles will improve mobility for officers operating in remote and hard-to-reach mining areas, thereby enhancing oversight, regulatory compliance, and response to operational challenges.<\/p>\n<p>He further noted that the vehicles will help promote responsible mining practices, improve safety, protect the environment, and strengthen engagement with local communities and stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the same event, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development, Hapenga Kabeta, appealed to regional offices receiving the vehicles to ensure they are used responsibly and strictly for official duties.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Government has handed over five motor vehicles valued about K13 Million to regional offices under the Directorate of Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining to strengthen monitoring and regulation of mining activities across the country.
