MweneLubemba Chitimukulu has set up a lands commission to oversee land issues in Bemba land.<\/p>\n
The Mwene Lubemba says it is of concern that there is an increase in unregulated sale of customary land in Bemba land the situation he said should be curbed.<\/p>\n
The Mwene Lubemba\u00a0 Chitimukulu has since\u00a0called for stronger oversight by the Land Commission to protect community interests and ensure sustainable development.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the\u00a0Ilamfya a high level meeting held\u00a0ahead of the Kusefya Pa Ng\u2019wena ceremony, the Mwene Lubemba Chitimukulu\u00a0warned that no title deed should be issued without passing through the Land Commission, regardless of local agreements.<\/p>\n
The Mwenelumbemba Chitimukulu has\u00a0noted that the increasing demand for land partly driven by shifting water availability in surrounding areas has led to an influx of buyers and a rise in informal transactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are giving out land without fully understanding the long-term impact, we need to look to the future and ensure land is administered in the interest of our community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
During the Ilamfya the MwineLubemba Chitimukulu announced the date for the Ukusefya Pangwena Traditional Ceremony on\u00a0September 19, 2026.<\/p>\n
