The Ministry of Education in Chilanga District has distributed 1, 500 desks to various schools in the first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n
District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) Lenny Longwe says a target to procure 3, 000 desks have been set for this year.<\/p>\n
Ms Longwe explains that the target for the first quarter was to procure 1, 200 desks using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), stating that there was an increase by 300 desks, which have been distributed in various schools.<\/p>\n
This was according to the District Development Coordinating Committee Report for quarter one of 2026 made available to ZANIS.<\/p>\n
The schools benefiting\u00a0include, Kalundu Secondary School, Zambia National Service (ZNS) Sopelo Primary School School, ZNS Safari Secondary School, Namalombwe Primary School, Saint Michael Secondary School and Sekelela Community School.<\/p>\n
