{"id":3765,"date":"2026-04-22T16:44:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3765"},"modified":"2026-04-22T16:44:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:44:28","slug":"senior-chief-ndungu-praises-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3765","title":{"rendered":"SENIOR CHIEF NDUNGU PRAISES GOVERNMENT\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senior Chief Ndungu of the Luvale people in Zambezi District has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for uniting the country through progressive reforms and policies such as the enactment of Bill 7 into law.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking through his Prime Minister, Collins Sandala, in a\u00a0press statement the traditional leader stated that such legislative milestones are pivotal in strengthening the nation&#8217;s legal and social fabric.<\/p>\n<p>The Senior Chief further hailed the government for the creation of the Zambezi Central Constituency, describing the delimitation exercise as a landmark achievement that will accelerate infrastructure development and improve the livelihoods of local residents.<\/p>\n<p>He specifically praised the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for conducting the process with transparency, impartiality, and integrity, noting that the new constituency is expected to serve as a catalyst for social harmony by bridging gaps and fostering unity between the Luvale and Lunda communities.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Chief Ndungu observed that the creation of the Central constituency is a blueprint for peace which provides a shared platform for all people in the district to work as one.<\/p>\n<p>He maintained that by bringing resources closer to the doorsteps of the people, the government is cementing a foundation of unity and long-lasting development for future generations regardless of their ethnic background.<\/p>\n<p>The traditional leader also pledged his full support for President Hichilema ahead of the August 13 General Election, urging Zambians to grant the Head of State a second mandate to allow him sufficient time to complete his national development agenda.<\/p>\n<p>He characterised the President as the right man for the job, citing the administration&#8217;s commitment to rural development and economic stability as the primary reasons for his endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Senior Chief conveyed his deepest condolences to President Hichilema on the loss of his uncle, Mr Maxwell Hichilema, who passed away on April 12, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief noted that the thoughts and prayers of the Mize Capital Palace remain with the President and the entire first family during this period of mourning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senior Chief Ndungu of the Luvale people in Zambezi District has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for uniting the country through progressive reforms and policies such as the enactment of Bill 7 into law.
