{"id":3624,"date":"2026-04-16T19:45:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T17:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3624"},"modified":"2026-04-16T19:29:04","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T17:29:04","slug":"northern-province-strengthens-health-response-amid-cholera-outbreak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3624","title":{"rendered":"NORTHERN PROVINCE STRENGTHENS HEALTH RESPONSE AMID CHOLERA OUTBREAK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">GOVERNMENT has intensified efforts to sustain public health responses in Northern Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This follows the outbreak of cholera in Mpulungu District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Zambia National Public Health Institute senior scientific officer Motola Sianga says government has activated a coordinated response targeting high-risk districts such as Mbala, Mpulungu and Nsama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Speaking when he called on Mbala District administration Dr, Sianga explained that the entry point for the response is through District Commissioners\u2019 offices, with strong collaboration among provincial health teams and local leadership structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cCholera outbreaks are often associated with the rainy season, and it is important that we sustain our response mechanisms.
