{"id":3594,"date":"2026-04-16T15:45:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3594"},"modified":"2026-04-16T15:29:22","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:29:22","slug":"2500-additional-schools-to-be-connected-to-reliable-internet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3594","title":{"rendered":"2,500 ADDITIONAL SCHOOLS TO BE CONNECTED TO RELIABLE INTERNET&nbsp;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">MINISTRY of Education Permanent Secretary for Administration, Noriana Muneku has disclosed that the Ministry is targeting to connect 2,500 additional schools to reliable internet services by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Ms Muneku says the move is aimed at ensuring that learners, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas, are not left behind in the digital transformation of the education sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">She also notes that over 100,000 learners are already benefiting from digital learning initiatives made possible through partnerships between the government and the private sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Ms Muneku was speaking during the 2026 Stakeholders Engagement Meeting on National School Internet Connectivity and Digital Learning Initiatives in Lusaka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Speaking at the same event, Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) Director General, Collins Mbulo revealed that ZICTA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has so far donated nearly 13,000 computers to about 600 schools nationwide.   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MINISTRY of Education Permanent Secretary for Administration, Noriana Muneku has disclosed that the Ministry is targeting to connect 2,500 additional schools to reliable internet services by the end of 2026.
