LUANO Town Council has announced a reduction in the hire rate of the earth moving equipment procured using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to ensure accessibility by the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Luano Town Council Public Relations Officer (PRO) Rabecca Samakai, in an interview with ZANIS in Kabwe, said the local authority resolved to slash the hire rates to make the equipment more accessible to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Samakai said the decision was arrived at during the Third Ordinary Council Meeting, emphasizing the urgent need for community-friendly fees which councilors deliberated on and approved as a subsidized charging structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said under the new arrangement, residents will no longer bear the full operational expenses, but instead, the council has shifted to a percentage-based model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor the Motor Grader, residents will only pay 30 percent of the fuel cost and operator allowance. For the Drilling Rig, access is set at 20 percent of the cost of fuel, materials, and operators allowance, while for the Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB), users will cover just 20 percent of the fuel and operators’ cost,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
