A 50-year-old man of Kapinda village, in Sinda district, has been murdered by unknown people after a drinking spree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, Robertson Mweemba has confirmed the development to ZANIS News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says police received a report from the deceased’s cousin, Pearson Banda, who reported that his cousin had been murdered by unknown people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Mweemba said brief facts indicate that on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at around 07:00hrs, Julius Mwale, the deceased told his wife that he was going to do some piece work at some fields with a friend, Gezani Banda, of Mvekani village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Around 18:00hrs, they both went to the residence of Anna Mwale where they started drinking a locally brewed beer known as kachasu,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Mweemba said, as time went on, the two were joined by Richard Phiri and Aaron Mwale, and they continued drinking beer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the following day, Sunday, April 12, at around 02:00 hrs, Julius Mwale was found dead outside the residence of Anna Mwale and the matter was reported to the police. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
