ECONOMICS Association of Zambia says it has seen a notable performance in key economic sectors, like mining, agriculture, tourism, transport and industrial local productions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking in Lusaka, Mr Mainza notes that economic growth has been positive because of the policies that have been implemented by government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he highlighted that despite the economy improving, consumer household commodities prices remained high across the board with the manufactures not reducing the prices of goods and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe expected benefits of lower production costs have not yet been passed on to consumers and the market has not fully reflected these changes,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the minimal benefits of low productivity were being passed to consumers, but the market was not fully reflecting these changes, resulting in limited relief for consumers, with further suggestions still pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere is need to explore other supplying routes, including sources like Nigeria, and Europe, these are opportunities that should be utilised,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Mainza further called for continued investment, policy stability and diversification to ensure long term growth and resilience across all sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
