{"id":3475,"date":"2026-04-13T19:45:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T17:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3475"},"modified":"2026-04-13T19:20:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T17:20:28","slug":"over-381-flood-affected-households-in-chama-assisted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3475","title":{"rendered":"OVER 381 FLOOD AFFECTED HOUSEHOLDS IN CHAMA ASSISTED"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;OVER 381 households that were affected by floods in selected&nbsp;wards of Chama District of Eastern Province,&nbsp;have received relief support from the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The relief distribution covers victims from Mabinga, Mwalala, Kalinkhu and Lupamanzi Wards, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Chama District Commissioner, Yobe Goma, flagged off the distribution exercise, which was conducted in coordination with the District Disaster Management Committee and the&nbsp;Ward Development Committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The District Commissioner said beneficiary lists were compiled following assessments in the flood-impacted wards, with verifications provided by community leadership structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cDistribution prioritised displaced families, the elderly, child-headed households and persons with disabilities,&#8221; Mr Goma stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">And Mabinga Ward Councilor, Lameck Zimba, said he was happy with the gesture from government, noting that the timely delivery of supplies was addressing immediate needs of affected households in the ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The relief consignment included food items&nbsp;such as mealie meal, cooking oil, beans, salt and rice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;OVER 381 households that were affected by floods in selected&nbsp;wards of Chama District of Eastern Province,&nbsp;have received relief support from the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU).
