President Hakainde Hichilema has called for the speedy completion of the ongoing construction works for student hostels at the Copperbelt University.

\n\u200ePresident Hichilema has noted that while it is commendable that works have commenced, there is need to strategically accelerate and complete the projects in order to improve infrastructure at the institution.
\n\u200e
\n\u200eHe was speaking when he inspected the construction site for the Copperbelt University students’ hostels in Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province.
\n\u200e
\n\u200ePresident\u00a0Hichilema adds that the projects have stalled for many years, depriving the students of the needed infrastructure.
\n\u200e
\n\u200eHe also\u00a0urged journalists to follow up on projects that have stalled for many years.
\n\u200e
\n\u200e”For most of these projects, funds were released before the UPND administration assumed office but\u00a0projects were not complete, as\u00a0the media start following up the stalled projects so that when we start to fight such corruption it is not\u00a0mistaken for victimisation ” said President Hichilema
\n\u200e
\n\u200eAnd Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima said government is eager to complete the projects at the Copperbelt University.
\n\u200e
\n\u200eHe said works have commenced on site after stalling for many years, and government will ensure completion of the hostels.
\n\u200e
\n\u200eCopperbelt University Vice Chancellor, Professor Nyambe Imasiku said once the hostels are complete, about\u00a08,000 bed spaces will be provided for the students.
