{"id":3144,"date":"2026-03-18T17:41:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:41:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3144"},"modified":"2026-03-18T17:46:31","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T15:46:31","slug":"over-580-cholera-vaccine-doses-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3144","title":{"rendered":"OVER 580 CHOLERA VACCINE DOSES APPROVED"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">INTERNATIONAL Coordinating Group on Vaccine Provision has approved over 586 additional doses of cholera vaccines to supplement government efforts towards combating the disease.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Speaking during a Press briefing in Lusaka, Minister of Health Alex Katakwe disclosed that the country has recorded 13 additional cholera cases in Lusaka and Mpulungu, over the past 48 hours.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dr Katakwe stated that the government will continue to put in place public health interventions and strengthened surveillance systems, in order to ensure early detection and treatment in high-risk areas.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe cooperation of every citizen remains critical, because preventing cholera requires collective action,\u201d he said.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">At the same event, Mr Katakwe also unveiled a new board for the National Health Insurance Policy (NHIMA), which has been entrusted to deliver an inclusive, sustainable and responsive health service to the people.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INTERNATIONAL Coordinating Group on Vaccine Provision has approved over 586 additional doses of cholera vaccines to supplement government efforts towards combating the disease.
