Ministry of Technology and Science Permanent Secretary Brilliant Habeenzu says the ICT sector can help position Zambia in attaining the middle income economy status. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Habeenzu said Technology can help drive the country’s economic development agenda by increasing productivity through its application in various economic sectors such as agriculture and mining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Permanent Secretary was speaking at the ongoing Information Communication Association of Zambia (ICAZ) Tech Conference in Livingstone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s about using technology to drive the economy, and this can only be achieved by partnering with the government,” said Dr Sinyangwe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And ICAZ Chief Executive Officer Chellah Silavwe says the ICT sector has been Zambia’s fastest growing economic sector which is well positioned to drive the country’s GDP growth agenda in the next five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking in Livingstone at the ongoing ICAZ Tech Conference, Training, Exposition and 17th Annual General Meeting, Mr Silavwe said over 600 delegates are attending the event that runs from March 17 to 19, 2026 at Avani in Livingstone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
