{"id":3091,"date":"2026-03-17T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3091"},"modified":"2026-03-17T16:21:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T14:21:35","slug":"govt-backs-amendment-of-anti-gbv-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=3091","title":{"rendered":"GOVT BACKS AMENDMENT OF ANTI-GBV LAW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">NORTH-WESTERN Province Permanent Secretary Grandson Katambi has called for stronger laws to combat the rising cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Speaking when he officially opened the Provincial consultative meeting in Solwezi on the amendment of the Anti-Gender-Based Violence Act Number 1 of 2011, Colonel Katambi (Rtd) said the review of the law is an important step towards strengthening the national legal framework aimed at preventing and responding to GBV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Col. Katambi thanked Cabinet Office through the Gender Division for spearheading the review process, which involves consultations with stakeholders across the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He noted that the consultative meeting in North-Western Province provides an opportunity for stakeholders to contribute their views and experiences to the national process of reviewing the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Col.
