The Nelly Mutti Foundation has donated assorted items, including food hampers, chitenge pieces\u00a0 and second-hand clothes, to 370 vulnerable individuals across five wards in Chilanga District.<\/p>\n
Foundation\u00a0Founder and Speaker of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti says the initiative aims at improving household food security for the vulnerable in society.<\/p>\n
ZANIS reports that Ms Mutti said this during the handover ceremony in Chilanga District.<\/p>\n
“The Nelly Mutti Foundation remains committed to standing with communities in times of need and contributing to initiatives that uplift lives and strengthen resilience,” she said.<\/p>\n
Ms Mutti\u00a0urged residents in the district to take advantage of the free education policy to ensure no child lags behind, calling education an equaliser.<\/p>\n
And Chilanga Town Council Chairperson, Champion Tembo said such partnerships build a better future,\u00a0complementing government programmes such as\u00a0cash for work, free education, and social cash transfer.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Mount Makulu Area Councillor, Monde Kayenge said the council values partnerships with the Foundation to improve the welfare of the vulnerable in the district.<\/p>\n
United Party for National Development (UPND) Constituency Chairperson, Anita Nkowani thanked the foundation and government for ensuring women’s representation in decision-making through the assenting of Bill 7 into law.<\/p>\n
Beneficiary, Racy Maskeke, thanked Ms Mutti and her team.<\/p>\n
The wards benefiting from the donation include New Farms, Namalombwe, Chilanga, Mount Makulu and Chilongolo.<\/p>\n
