Grief has engulfed Chikupili Secondary School in Luano District, Central Province, following the sudden death of a 16-year-old pupil who collapsed on the school premises.<\/p>\n
The form 2 learner is reported to have collapsed around 14:00 hours on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to her uncle, Lastone Chitebete, who is a former Head teacher at the school, the girl Mizilia Mulamata, had shown no signs of illness.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe reported for classes in the morning and appeared perfectly fine. There was nothing unusual about her health or behaviour,\u201d Mr Chitebete who is the uncle of the deceased said.<\/p>\n
He explained that he was at home when he received a distress call from a teacher, informing him that the learner had collapsed.<\/p>\n
Mr Chitebete explained that he rushed to the school and immediately transported her to Chikupili Rural Health Post, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n
And Central Province Police Commanding Officer, Lemakani Chirwa, said police received the report of Sudden and Unnatural Death through Masansa Police Post which is under Mkushi police station.<\/p>\n
Mr Chirwa disclosed that matter was reported by Mr Chitebeta, aged 60, of Chikupili area in Mkushi district.<\/p>\n
He explained that the deceased was staying with the reporter, who is a retired teacher at Chikupili Secondary School where she was learning in Form 2.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe now deceased went to school and knocked off at 13:00 hrs. She went home, but later returned to the school to see her aunt who is the reporter\u2019s wife Eunice Chimika, a teacher at the same school,\u201d said Mr Chirwa.<\/p>\n
He explained that the reporter was later informed that his niece had collapsed, upon which he took her to the clinic.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Brought In Dead (BID) certificate was issued, the deceased’s body was deposited at Masansa Mini Hospital awaiting post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death and burial. The Inquiry File has been opened,\u201d said Mr Chirwa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
