Over a thousand farming households in Luampa District will benefit from the\u00a0 Ministry of Community Development and Social Services\u2019 implementation of the Food Security Pack (FSP) wetland initiative.<\/p>\n
Speaking during a Food Security Pack Committee meeting, Luampa District Assistant Community Development Officer, Kakoma Shabiyemba, revealed that 1,030 households will receive agricultural inputs under the programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cProviding these inputs is a key government strategy aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing food security at the household level,\u201d Mr. Shabiyemba said.<\/p>\n
He explained that the wetland programme was specifically targeting areas with dambo areas to boost production.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach of the 60 households received three goats, giving families a chance to diversify their sources of income,\u201d\u00a0Mr. Shabiyemba\u00a0added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Acting District Agricultural Coordinator Sydney Banda, emphasised on the importance of collaboration between departments.<\/p>\n
