Kasempa District Commissioner Benson Malipenga has implored residents to actively participate in the upcoming nationwide constituency delimitation consultations in a bid to achieve a citizen-driven delimitation.<\/p>\n
Mr Malipenga urged Kasempa residents to attend next week\u2019s stakeholder consultations and make their submissions so that the views can be captured.<\/p>\n
He said this in an interview in Kasempa.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis process is very important to everyone, so I am calling upon all Kasempa residents to come at best ways for the meeting regarding delimitation of constituencies as it calls for development in our District,” Mr Malipenga added.<\/p>\n
He disclosed that the delimitation process placed the responsibility of determining constituency boundaries and names in the hands of citizens through consultation.<\/p>\n
Mr Malipenga further disclosed that the release of the delimitation roadmap marked an important step towards transparency and adherence to constitutional provisions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe delimitation roadmap by Electoral Commission of Zambia shows that the process is transparent and adheres to constitutional provisions,\u201d He added.<\/p>\n
