POLICE PROBE VANDALISM ON MKUSHI-SERENJE ROAD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police in Mkushi District, Central Province, have launched investigations into the vandalism of culverts at Nkolongo area along the Mkushi-Serenje road, which has caused partial damage to the busy stretch.<\/p>\n

Central Province Deputy Commanding Officer, Timba Ngulube, said officers are on the ground and investigations have commenced.<\/p>\n

The damage has forced motorists to use one lane, resulting in congestion and long delays.<\/p>\n

Police noted that the vandalism of road infrastructure has negatively impacted road users and economic activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are appealing to the public to get hold of anyone who seems suspicious and can be connected to this vandalism. Members of the community should report anyone having items that may lead to arrests in this matter,\u201d Ms. Ngulube said.<\/p>\n

She urged community members to remain vigilant, stressing that the damaged property affects all Zambians and requires collective effort to protect.<\/p>\n

Motorists have expressed concern over the delays, with some saying they have spent several hours stuck in traffic, affecting travel plans and business operations.<\/p>\n

One motorist, Debacious Miyanda, said the situation has disrupted deliveries and called for urgent action.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been here for hours. We don\u2019t know what time we will leave. We hope that something will be done quickly and traffic starts flowing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Police have advised motorists to exercise patience and observe safety measures while using the affected section of the Mkushi-Serenje road.<\/p>\n
