{"id":2105,"date":"2026-01-29T09:58:36","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T07:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=2105"},"modified":"2026-01-29T09:58:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T07:58:36","slug":"lusaka-businessman-findley-convicted-fined","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zanis.gov.zm\/?p=2105","title":{"rendered":"LUSAKA BUSINESSMAN FINDLEY CONVICTED, FINED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lusaka Magistrate Court has convicted and fined Lusaka businessman Harry Findley K180,000 and K60,000, or six and four months imprisonment, respectively, in default.<\/p>\n<p>This is in a matter where Acting Chief Resident Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya-Okoh, has found the businessman guilty of being in possession of more than one valid passport and a forged immigration stamp.<\/p>\n<p>ZANIS reports that particulars of the offences are that on 3rd October, 2022, in Lusaka, Mr Findlay had possession of more than one Zambian passport.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e\u200eIt is further alleged that one of his passports bore a fake endorsement stamp bearing the office name of Mwami Immigration Office dated 23rd September, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Munyinya-Okoh noted that the law does not allow for citizens to hold more than one passport at a time without lawful justification.<\/p>\n<p>In mitigation, Mr Findlay\u2019s lawyers told the court that the now convict has a medical condition that has been clearly stated on the court records.<\/p>\n<p>They further pleaded for leniency, saying Mr Findlay is not just a first-time offender but also a provider, father, grandfather, and employer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lusaka Magistrate Court has convicted and fined Lusaka businessman Harry Findley K180,000 and K60,000, or six and four months imprisonment, respectively, in default.
