Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba says the government has made significant strides in promoting the decent work agenda and strengthening industrial harmony through collaboration between government, employers, and workers.<\/p>\n

Ms Tambatamba says the progress recorded over the past four years has helped to enhance the country\u2019s economic performance, citing improvements in productivity, currency stability and sectoral growth.<\/p>\n

ZANIS reports that speaking during a familiarisation tour of Ross Breeders Zambia Limited, Ms Tambatamba stated that government came into office with a clear agenda focused on economic transformation, job creation including human and social development, with decent work at the centre of the vision.<\/p>\n

Ms Tambatamba further stressed that government does not operate in isolation but works closely with social partners, including employers, employees and trade unions, to ensure peace and harmony in the industry.<\/p>\n

She noted that productivity remains a key driver of national development, adding that the Ministry has intensified community sensitisation programmes aimed at improving productivity at all levels, including households.<\/p>\n

Ms Tambatamba also highlighted positive economic indicators, including strengthening of the Kwacha, which she said reflects increased productivity across sectors such as information technology, tourism, agriculture, mining and the beef industry.<\/p>\n

She said the rebound of the mining sector, the reopening of previously dormant mines, and favourable global metal prices have further boosted Zambia\u2019s economic outlook.<\/p>\n

Ross Breeders Zambia Limited, Head of Human Resource and Compliance, Charles Nyirenda, said the company has grown significantly since its incorporation expanding to over 2,000 workers across its operations, with about 40 percent being female.<\/p>\n
