A 69 year old man of Kansofu farming area in Chingola District on the Copperbelt Province has been beaten to death by his wife and brother in law after a marital dispute.<\/p>\n

The deceased identified as Edward Kateule is alleged to have been murdered by the wife,\u00a0Abigail Namwelu 44 and her brother Alex Mutale who went to assist the sister to resolve marital dispute.<\/p>\n
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer,\u00a0Pethias Siandenge revealed that the incident occurred between August 03, 2025 at around 19:00 hrs and August 04, 2025 at 10:00 hrs at Kansofu farming area, in Chingola district when John Ngosa,\u00a0a member of the Community Crime Prevention unit from Kalilo police post reported the matter to Chingola Central Police Station.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Brief facts of the matter are that, on\u00a0August 3, 2025\u00a0at around 14:00 hours, the deceased and his wife Abigail Namwelu whilst in a drunk state had a marital dispute,\u2019\u2019 Mr Siandenge said.<\/p>\n
Mr Siandenge stated that in the evening, the confusion escalated until the wife and the husband started fighting physically and later Alex, the brother in law to the deceased joined the fight to assist the sister Abigail.<\/p>\n
Mr Siandenge explained that\u00a0when the police visited the crime scene,\u00a0they found that the body of the deceased was lying on the floor in the kitchen shelter near an extinguished fire source.<\/p>\n

He said Police discovered\u00a0that\u00a0the deceased sustained\u00a0a swollen head, a bleeding nose, a cut in the head, a swollen right hip, a cut on the right leg, and multiple burns on the body.<\/p>\n

He further said that a\u00a0one metre long blood-stained round bar was also found near the body of the deceased, and no other anomalies were observed.<\/p>\n
