The Barotse Royal Establishment has called for peace and unity in Western Province.
ZANIS reports that speaking at Tobacco Zambia Grounds to multitudes who gathered to welcome his Majesty the Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II Prime Minister Ngambela Mukela Manyando called on the people to coexist under the leadership of the Litunga.
The Ngambela emphasised that Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II of Barotseland is the overall traditional leader of the Province and only him is bestowed with the power to appoint chiefs.
Ngambela Manyando has commended the government for the continued support rendered to the traditional leadership especially during this tour of the Litunga.
Ngambela Mukela Manyando said that the Barotse Royal Establishment was excited to witness various works the subjects are engaged in the three districts and called for hard work to boost the region and the country’s economy.
“As we moved to TBZ we stopped at JTI and learnt about the massive work of Tobacco farmers which is the similar case here at TBZ. We have also seen sacks of maize here at TBZ which shows that people are engaged in farming and that is what the King wants,” the Ngambela said.
His Majesty the Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II of Barotse visited Nkeyema District as part of his Royal Visit to the three districts that included Luampa and Kaoma.
The Litunga embarked on the historical Royal visit to the three districts to avail himself to his subjects and accord them an opportunity to see him especially those that do not attend the Kuomboka Traditional Ceremony.
Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II started his tour with a visit to Luampa on Friday, stopping in Kaoma on Saturday before concluding his historic visit at TBZ show grounds in Nkeyema.
In Nkeyema District Litunga made his first stop at JTI offices and toured the facility which is one of the biggest tobacco companies in the district.
At around 13:00 hours, he arrived at Munkuye Cross to a thunderous welcome as multitudes burst in cheer on the sight of the ‘Indila’ the Royal Vehicle of the Litunga.
The short but memorable ceremony at Munkuye Cross was characterised by traditional dances of praise marked by the “Ngomalume” and different culture dances by pupils.
Crowds at TBZ, were even bigger, hosting the main event which also featured a church service presided over by Senior Shepard Prophet Kabati Akamandisa of the empowered body of Christ church besides many traditional dances.
